KNOBIL is a Jazz-songwriting project created by Louise Knobil, a double bass player, electric bass player, singer and composer from Lausanne, Switzerland.
The artist, born in 1998, composes, arranges and interprets her own songs with her upright bass and with her voice. Her esthetics is inspired by the musicians she loves: Jaco Pastorius, Charles Mingus and Esperanza Spalding.
She released her first EP entitled « Or not Knobil » with the label Hout Records on March 17th 2023.
After her 14-concerts-release tour (featuring venues like Moods in Zurich and Cully Jazz Festival) in Switzerland and a few dates in Europe - France, Belgium, Germany and Netherlands - she was selected to take part in the Swiss Diagonales Jazz for the 2024 edition.
She plays in quartet with her fellow knodisciples: Chloé (bass clarinet), Vincent Andreae (drums) and Manon Mullener (piano).
