Manon Mullener | 5TET
For her second album, Insomnia, Swiss pianist Manon Mullener comes back with a 5tet. She is accompanied
by a team of young musicians brimming with creativity: Lucien Mullener on drums, Samuel Urscheler on
saxophone, Victor Decamp on trombone and Benjamin Jaton on double bass.
After a one-year stay in Cuba followed by a first album, Reflejos, fueled by a traditional Latin jazz aesthetic,
the young pianist-composer explores new horizons with Insomnia, without abandoning the influences that
have nourished her music.
The pianist from Fribourg cultivates inspiration in the elements that surround her: a night walk, April
snows, a summer jam with friends or... insomnia. Manon’s musical explorations are once again animated by
an overflowing energy and a groove that never misses. This new 5tet will not fail to make even the most shy
dance!
